Linda Thompson, President
Linda Thompson was born and raised in Huntington, WV. Linda has a twin sister, along with three additional sisters and two brothers. Like her mother and many close relatives, Linda graduated from Huntington East High School. She attended Marshall University for one year before marrying her high school sweetheart. As a newlywed, Linda moved to Washington D.C. and worked for the FBI.
Linda currently resides in Crown City, OH with her husband. She has a strong devotion to her Baptist faith and to her family. She is the mother of two children, Tara and Alan, and the proud grandmother to six grandchildren, Tori, Lexi, Kali, E.B., Tyler and Caleb.
Linda currently works as the Executive Secretary in the elementary education department for the Cabell County Board of Education. Linda has been an active member of the West Virginia School Service Personnel Association from her very first day of employment on September 12, 1978. Prior to her election of President of the WVSSPA in the spring of 2014, Linda served as a Vice President of the state executive committee for 12 years.
Linda strongly believes in the mission statement of the WVSSPA. She strives to uphold and protect the WVSSPA ideals, standards and goals set for service employees throughout West Virginia’s school buildings.
Sandy Lamp, Secretary
Sandy Lamp resides in Hedgesville, WV, with her husband Kerry. She is the mother of two sons, Patrick, 23, and Spencer, 7.
Over the past 15 years, Sandy has worked as a bus operator for Berkeley County. She serves as the Treasurer of the Berkeley County School Service Personnel Association and as the Secretary of the state WVSSPA Executive Committee. Sandy also serves on the West Virginia Department of Education School Bus Review Committee.
Sandy enjoys spending time with her family and watching her son Spencer play baseball. She is an avid reader and also loves crafting. Sandy feels that it is a true privilege and honor to serve on the executive committee for the WVSSPA.
Kim Poland, Treasurer
Kim Poland was born and raised in Romney, WV. She is the mother two children, son, Zac, and daughter, Shaena. Kim has two lovely granddaughters, Melodee and Megan.
Kim currently resides in Romney, WV, with her husband Tim Meek. She works for Hampshire County Schools as a Special Education Classroom Aide at Hampshire High School. Kim has been an active member of WVSSPA since the start of her career in 1996.
Kim is a Methodist pastor of three churches in the South Elk Garden Charge community.
Kim serves as the local President of the Hampshire County School Service Personnel Association, and as the Treasurer of the state WVSSPA Executive Committee.

Jerry Ames, Maintenance, Ohio County
Jerry Ames resides in Wheeling, WV, with his wife Janet. Jerry is the father of two children, Jerry Jr. and Jessica, and has three grandchildren, Jordan, Jocelyn and Olen.
Prior to his career with Ohio County Schools, Jerry served 17 years with the Unites States Army Reserves. Jerry currently works for Ohio County Schools Maintenance Department as an Asbestos Management Planner and Inspector. He has been a member of the WVSSPA for 25 years. In 2014, Jerry helped recruit over 100 new members to the association from the Northern Panhandle. He currently serves as President of the Ohio County School Service Personnel Association and as the Maintenance Representative and a Vice President of the state WVSSPA Executive Committee.
In his free time Jerry enjoys riding Harley Davidson motorcycles, officiating high school football games and watching his grandchildren play sports.
Twilla Lykins, Cook, Nicholas County
Twilla Lykins lives in Nicholas County with her husband Doug. She is the mother of one son, Patrick.
Twilla graduated from Nicholas County High School. She began her school service career in 1972. Twilla became a WVSSPA member in 1986. She currently works as a cook for Nicholas County High School. Throughout the years, Twilla has served as a Nicholas County School Service Personnel President and Vice President. She has served as the Cook Representative and a Vice President for the state WVSSPA Executive Committee since 2004.
During her school service career, Twilla has been active as a homeroom mother, PTA President and proud soccer mom. She is a member of the National School Nutrition Association and is an active 4-H volunteer. In her free time she enjoys reading and taking walks.
Sherri Talkington, Teacher Aide, Harrison County
Sherri Talkington lives on a farm in Harrison County with her husband, whom she has known since she was nine years old. Sherri has one daughter, one son, and four granddaughters.
Over the past six years Sherri has served as the President of the Harrison County School Service Personnel Association. She also serves as the Teacher Aide Representative and a Vice President of the state WVSSPA Executive Committee.
Since 1997, Sherri has worked as a teacher aide in Harrison County. She has been a WVSSPA member since the year 2000. In her free time she coaches her granddaughter’s softball team. She also loves working on her farm, gardening, scrap-booking and outdoor photography.

Lloyd Hinkle, Retiree, Monroe County
Lloyd Hinkle was born in Ronceverte, WV. He and his wife now reside in Union, WV, where he has lived since he was nine years old. Lloyd is the father of two sons, Travis and the late Sean Patrick Hinkle. His son Sean went home to the Lord when he was just 19 years and 19 days old.
Prior to his school service career, Lloyd worked for several years as a union steward for Hercules, Inc. He has been a member of the WVSSPA for nearly 20 years. Lloyd now serves as the Retiree Representative and a Vice President for the state WVSSPA Executive Committee. Before retirement, he served as the President of the Monroe County School Service Personnel Association for nine years.
Lloyd and his wife proudly serve as guardians of love to a beloved friend, Gregory, who resides in Springfield Nursing Home. Lloyd has been actively involved in Little League Baseball throughout the years, serving as president, umpire-in-chief and also as a coach. He enjoys motorcycling and tinkering with his classic car. As a retiree, Lloyd remains passionate about the WVSSPA and continues to devote his time to the association in hopes that it continues to grow and prosper.
Tammie Glover, Office, Cabell County
Tammie Glover was raised in a union family. She is the granddaughter of coal miner, Aude Adams, and the daughter of a steelworker and a garment worker, Paul and Tommie Frasher. Tammie has been married to a Teamster, David A. Glover, for 35 years. She is the mother of two children and six grandchildren.
Tammie graduated from Milton High School and attended Marshall University. Tammie was a stay-at-home mother until her children began school. In 1986 she was hired by Cabell County Schools and joined WVSSPA shortly after.
Tammie has 29 years of experience as an office professional. She currently works at Cabell County central office and runs a county help desk for the West Virginia Education Information System (WVEIS). Tammie serves as secretary of the Cabell County School Service Personnel Association. She was elected in 2015 as the Office Representative and a Vice President of the state WVSSPA Executive Committee.
Tammie and her family enjoy playing bluegrass music. She and her husband enjoy off-roading in their Jeep Wrangler, working on the farm and raising Jack Russell Terriers. Tammie is honored for the opportunity to serve on the executive committee.
