Wheeling, W.V. – The West Virginia School Service Personnel Association (WVSSPA) will hold its 51st annual Spring Conference at Oglebay Resort in Wheeling, WV on Friday, May 13th-Saturday, May 14th.
Nearly 200 school service personnel from 35 counties across the state will attend the conference. Members attending the WVSSPA Spring Conference will learn about the Association and its direction, receive important updates on legislative changes related to service personnel and elect Executive Committee representatives for the Aide and Custodial positions.
“The WVSSPA annual conference is a time for members from all over the state to join together to discuss important topics concerning school service personnel. Holding an annual meeting allows the Association to share what we have learned throughout the year and also gives us a chance to hear what our members are experiencing as they work to serve the students of West Virginia,” Executive Director Joe White.
The WVSSPA is a non-profit association whose purpose is to create a deeper sense and knowledge of the importance of a good educational system for West Virginia, and to advance the interests and welfare of service employees. The Association was established in 1965. For the past 50 years, the WVSSPA has been front and center on issues affecting service personnel. The WVSSPA is an 8,000-plus member strong association dedicated to the needs and concerns of school service personnel. The Association values democracy and independence, and recognizes the importance of actively raising awareness on issues important to school service employees in West Virginia.
